Hey Tumblr world…please take a sec to check out this project that my boyfriend is working on. It’s an amazing book full of photos, interviews & stories about billboard graffiti from all over the world. We are using Kickstarter to raise the money to publish the book & get it out to all of our backers!

$35 will get you a copy of the book, but there are many other options & tiers for backing the project that come with extra goodies. There are even one-of-a-kind watercolor paintings from the infamous Augor MSK that were used in the Kid Cudi issue of Complex magazine. Please support my book, Billboard Bandits, on kickstarter. The purpose of this Kickstarter is to give me the ability to publish my book, “Billboard Bandits – Outlaw Artists in the Sky”. This book is unlike any other in its genre, delving deep into the worlds of graffiti and street art yet focusing on the fascination with conquering billboards. While graffiti itself is illusive in nature, billboard graffiti takes it a step further as one of the most daring aspects of the craft. The book itself is completed and includes photos and interviews from artists all over America and the UK. The first hand accounts enable the reader to feel present in the world of these individual artists. Some of them are raw and gritty vandals while others provide more of a fine art feel. They specialize in everything from integrating their pieces into the advertisement itself to adding their artwork to the blank billboard back. A select group of these street artists are referred to as “billboard liberators”, manipulating the ads to fit their own agenda and convey their message. While each one is unique, they are united by one common thread - they are the billboard bandits.

This edit brings me back to the days of Underground skatepark where you could catch all the biggest East Coast pros in Brooklyn. Austin Paz uploaded this edit last week with some of the best tricks that went down at the park. If you ever skated Underground then you know it was the slipperiest park on earth. You’d get more props for being able to roll away smoothly then you did for doing a trick on the ankle high death rail. Check out it up top.
